We got approached by Reece, a local dad whose little girl Rosie was born prematurely so he really wanted to do something to raise some money for the neonatal unit that had been such a big part of his family’s life.

Reece had a fantastic idea to do a sponsored walk around Castle Park to raise funds for Wish Upon a Fairy. This idea soon grew and developed into a whole family fun day!  We managed to get so much support with this event, we had so many donations for raffle prizes, and we had lots of companies donate and sponsor things for our end-of-walk goodie bags, including bottles of drinks, fruit and snacks, newspapers, pencils, key rings and more. We also had two estate agents sponsor the event and put up boards all around the area to help promote the event, we had a radio interview and we were in the newspaper too! Although this took a lot of planning and organising we all had so much fun helping with this event. As part of the ‘family fun’ aspect of the day, we had a fantastic range of rides and bouncy castles, plenty of fun games for all to play as well as lots of great entertainment including dancers, singers and Ariel performers. Alongside this we had many amazing stalls for people to browse and buy from!

We had a great turn out and lots of people showed up not only to take part in the walk but to enjoy the day and help us raise lots of money! Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side and by the afternoon the heavens opened and we all got very wet – we ended up having to close an hour earlier than planned due to the weather but all in all, everyone had a great time and we managed to raise an astounding £…
