At Wish Upon a Fairy, we understand that for some families, a neonatal stay can last weeks or even months. During this time, every small moment of comfort and stimulation can make a meaningful difference to a baby’s development and wellbeing.
We are delighted to share that we have recently purchased a couple of cot side toys for long-term stay babies after being contacted by one of the lovely nurses on NNU as they had to borrow ones from the children’s ward. These toys are designed to help keep little ones stimulated and content during their wake periods, supporting their sensory development in a gentle and appropriate way.
Bright colours, soft textures and engaging shapes can provide important visual and tactile stimulation, while also bringing a sense of normality to a clinical environment. For parents spending long hours by their baby’s bedside, seeing their little one calmly engaged — even for a short while — can be incredibly reassuring.
As always, we are proud to support neonatal units in ways that truly matter to families. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Wish Upon a Fairy and helps us make initiatives like this possible. ![]()
