Saturday 29th October 2022 came around and with it came our second ever Wish upon a Fairy
quiz night!
It was held at Alresford Village Hall again and we had a packed out hall with 16 teams
competing to win our personalised engraved trophy.
We had a tombola, a raffle full of amazing prizes donated by local businesses and people and a
kitchen full of cakes and sweet treats to buy. There was cheesecake, lemon drizzle cake, vegan
cakes and even a special Halloween themed cake which oozed blood that was put in an auction
midway through the quiz and went for £20.00. This was made and donated by Shelby Ryan,
one of our fairies sister in laws. So thank you very much Shelby for your lovely effort.
Each quiz round was Halloween themed and had a variety of spooky answers. I would say the
most taxing round was the anagrams round, even for us quiz masters!
We had a prize for the best team name which was won by ‘Ghouls just wanna have fun’ and we
hope they did. Sadly for them though, the winning was short lived as they were then awarded
our last place prizes of Wish upon a Fairy wooden spoons!
Our lovely winners were ‘Here for the treats’ who received our special trophy, well done guys!
We raised a total of £861.92 in our Quiz night and were really pleased. Every penny added to
our pot helps us accumulate a healthy sum for our amazing neonatal unit to help wherever they
need it.
Thank you all as always for your help and support with our fundraising ventures and we look
forward to our next event in less than a month’s time, Festive Fairyland!
