How We Raised £10,711.40: A Year of Generosity and Community Spirit

This year has been nothing short of extraordinary for our charity, as we raised an incredible £10.711.40 through a combination of a Halloween quiz night, our very first Festive Fairyland, and very generous donations from the public and local businesses including £5,500 from Lamb & Co!

We are beyond grateful to everyone who contributed to making this fundraising effort a massive success. Here’s how we did it:

1. Halloween Quiz Night: A Night of Fun, Friendly Competition

Halloween came and we kicked off our 3rd year with a fundraising Quiz night, which quickly became one of the highlights of our fundraising calendar. It was a fun and engaging evening filled with laughter and of course, a healthy dose of competition! Teams of friends, families, and colleagues came together to test their knowledge on everything from general trivia to pop culture, history, and even some quirky themed rounds.

We charged a small entry fee per team, sold hot drinks and homemade cakes and local businesses generously donated prizes for a raffle and tombola on the night!

Thanks to the energy and enthusiasm of all those who participated, we raised £861.92 through the quiz alone. It was a great start to our fundraising efforts and set the tone for the months ahead.

2. Christmas Market: A Festive Fairyland!

As the year drew to a close, we turned our focus to our very first Festive Fairyland, which was a fantastic success. Held at Alresford Village Hall, the market was a magical experience for all who attended. 20 local businesses filled the stalls with handmade crafts, delicious food, and unique gifts, while festive music and decorations created the perfect holiday atmosphere.

In addition, we had an amazing raffle with exciting prizes, a tombola, yummy hot dogs and homemade cakes and a magical Santa’s grotto for the children!

The market wasn’t just about shopping; it was about coming together as a community to celebrate the season of giving. Thanks to the support of local businesses, volunteers, and attendees, we raised £2386.15 at the Christmas market.

As we reflect on the success of this year’s fundraising efforts, we’re already planning for the future. The incredible amount raised this year has inspired us to dream bigger and do even more in the coming year. We hope to continue building on the foundation of community support and collaboration that made this year so successful.
